The City Spotlights Teen Leadership Council is a school-year youth employment program that offers 15+ Boston teens, many with little to no prior access to arts career opportunities, paid arts sector positions as artistic leaders and community advocates. They work with children, local organizations and creative professionals, and college students on college campuses to explore social justice issues through a community advocacy performance and workshop tour devised and performed by teen employees. Students are paid minimum wage around 10 hours/week. Teen Leadership Council Begins November 11th, 2019 and ends April 24th, 2020. Teen Council meets three times a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) from 4:00 - 6:30 pm at the Boch Center. Rehearsals are mandatory. Teen Council will also participate in or plan events on some weekday evenings or weekends.
Teen Leaders must be at least age 15 by the start of the program and cannot turn age 19 by the end of the program.
All applicants are required to live in the city of Boston in order to participate.
